A snowy beginning

I have not updated this blog in over two or three years and so much has happened since then but am gonna start posting regularly again, over the past three years my parkour has grown so much am more at tuned with my body then ever I can finally flip!!! am at the strongest I have ever been in my life and the heaviest am twelve stone!!... I have also developed allot as a person I feel for the better as well. So this is where my story continues today I woke up warm in my bed only to be woken up by a slight breeze on my bare skin which wasn't wrapped up under the covers it took so much effort to move from my warm bed to get up in to the crisp cold of my bedroom now I know why mammals hibernate... , I look out the window only to see white it had been snowing! in my mind I went noooo damn it... but from training and just people I have met I've learnt not to look at the bad things in life but to make the most of the positive things I mean life's to short to worry.

My Friends no brothers have worked hard over the past few years we have helped raise money to get a 3running and gymnastics gym which is awesome for the kids gives them something to do its a good feeling we had nothing as teenagers and at the moment where working on getting a parkour park built here in ellesmereport I cant wait its gonna take allot of work and commitment but I believe we truly can do it ill have some pictures up when its finished!!! but thats for another post. oh where also sponsored by a clothing brand called drunk monkey which is awesome but this is more a benefit then anything and nothing more but hey free clothes cant say no to that!!!.

training update

so much to talk about Ive recently started more fighting again been training with a new teacher and good friend Kevin ta funny how we met i was out training with some Friends and a woman from the council saw us and said a man called Kevin ta is looking for extremely fit people to train with. Now Ive heard al lot of this before and have been to some of the so called killer workouts only to find i go home not even sore or barely tired so i liked the idea of testing this out.

Kevin is a really cool guy we did a kungfu performance in blacon for 3000 people we had to learn the lion head dance which was amazing and we had a good laugh bar me nearly stabbing Kevin in the throat as he was performing chi gong (iron neck kung fu) the idea was he would snap 4 spears with his neck alone.

but Kevin had left them in the water to long (this was to make the more flexable) so we had to improvise which involved Kevin getting a very nasty slice on his throat but we manged to get on with it and the crowd loved it not bad considering we only did the spear show once in training and only trained for 4 hours with the loin dance.

after the blacon festival we really started training with Kevin and I must say it was a very hard session indeed prober kungfu move style I loved it :) it was so hard one of the boys was sick maw ha ha so ill defiantly be training with Kevin more.

parkour

my parkour training is going great Ive increased my jumping power in every aspect and just feel like Ive gotten better all together in my parkour. Ill basically be doing parkour when ever i have time and am not really going to plan these out just go with the flow i suppose ;).

strength

my strength has also increased vastly Ive been able to hold a flag for 20 secs on a bar and also manged 1 flag pull up! along with 13 muscle ups and an improved OAC but these could still do with al lot of work.

fighting

my fighting skills have improved aswell I find am able to hit harder than ever and read my oppents better my grapling isnt shabby either for being self taught so its just brushing up from here am going to be doing alot of bag work along with lifting and ive even started doing interval training twice a week along with kevs sunday session so thats my training up to now ill be sure to post back soon!

shadows of our selfs

Just been on the movnat website and checked out some of the articles on zoo humans (people who are shadows of what we should be like) and its really hit me hard. Where I live not many people understand the concept of real parkour they can move but I never really see any one trying to help others or improve them self's try to be better its something I feel am falling under turning in to a shadow. losing why I train why I force myself to go out in the rain or when am tired just to push that bit more. I see this not only where i live but in other places to its scary and I feel like the mind set of parkour is being lost and only becoming a shell of what it is just movement with no reason no purpose.

If any think its only gave me more strength to try and help people understand parkour so that we can become more than just shadows this is something I myself am fighting everyday to try and not be normal but to be myself and not a shadow,Its hard and Ive asked myself why try and Ive been as close to say I just give up and be like every one else but that would be to easy and Ive learnt from parkour that the harder you try the stronger you will become I will continue my battle and hopefully inspire others to under stand that we don't need to be the same and not take the easy route. My Friend flipp says there are to many sheep and not enougth Shepard's
I just hope there will be a day when am a Shepard and not drowning in a crowd of sheep.

Just some stuff that was on my mind suppose it was abit of a rant
peace x

Fate is a calling!

Am back to full fitness again and am siting here in the mood for a chunky post so here goes!

The past few weeks have been very interesting I have rested for a solid week after my over trained state and came back stonger than ever. Ive also noticed outside of my parkour training ive just grown as a person since last year I feel great and ive noticed this has really had an effect on the people around me which is good for me and my freinds familly ect.

Ive been on my parkour coaching course aswell which was a great learning curve I also got to see some freinds I have not seen in a long time. I was going to take my time with becoming a parkour coach and just kinda take everyday as it came but today I had a mobile call asking if Id like to be employed as a parkour coach by my old teacher mr king gulp.

I think this would be great but at the mo ive still got a lot to learn I feel, so am going to see how the next few weeks play out as I have people I want to talk to about this first.

Well thats my life at the mo and here some training updates

well again with out really training for it I have discoverd I can hold a human flag for 6 secs on structres like ladders which am very happy with so going to progress with this more but its not my main focus at the moment.

Ive ganied an oac from standing head height :) and can do a chin up with 9 and a half stone hanging of me.

parkour movement is still progressing well along with my fear of heights and drops.

Ive also ganied some pretty nice muscle gains over the past 5 months but its only helped my parkour.

climbing has improved but this I feel this could still do with some work!

anyhow thats all peace!

Well well ant been on this in a while so heres a quick post on progress.
Am deffinatily at the best Ive been in my parkour journey and genral fitness Ive been able to lift weights I couldent normally My oacs are coming along pretty good aswell :) still alot of work mind you!. I dont know if i mentioned this but Ive also learnt front levers with out really training for them which is great along with being able to run four and a half miles with out rest.
My confeidence and genral movement have improved aswell and my body fat is at 8percent.

But there always has to be abit of negativess I supose Ive noticed from training to much and not resting stupid I know that ive started to get the sighns of over training so instead of repeating my mistake like last winter am going to stop all phyical fitness bar swimming maybe and just resting in genral for a week well suck as the easter holidays are here :( anyhow thats about it peace!.

hmmm Training is going well I feel my mind has improved more than anythink obstacles that used to look big look small which am glad with. My body has definatly kept up just aswell Ive started doing slightly bigger drops and arm jumps my presion and arm jump have deffinatly progressed along with my abilty to link movements togeather!.

If there is one thing am not happy with its running Ive been told I run funny in to my movements so over the past few days ive been watching my running form more than normal.
My OAC training is comeing along my one armed negatives have really improved on both my bicep and tricep muscles, so am chuffed.

So Id say that pretty much covers this month anyhow here a little video I made thought it would be fun to play with some angles ect.

The OAC

Right ive gotten pretty strong I like to think with my pull ups chin ups and its time to start raiseing the bar am aware Oacs are probally useless in parkour but its more somethink Id like to prove to myself and I think it could really help my mental determination and strengthen my resolve in parkour.

My plan is to basiclly start drilling chinups more and use my weighted vest on 10kg alot more then just doing L-sits I could probally even add L-sits in with the varation of the weighted vest.

so ready or not here I come :)

till next time.
